Indonesia's security forces have foiled a plot by Islamist militants to attack Western targets. Police on July 3 announced the arrest of 10 suspected militants, and the seizure of 20 bombs following raids in Palembang, Southern Sumatra, some 425km from Jakarta. It is believed that the militants were initially planning to attack a popular tourist café in Western Sumatra, but later decided to target Western interests in Jakarta itself.
