BMI View: GDP growth surprised on the upside in Q108, coming in at 7.1% y-o-y after a revised 6.9% expansion in the preceding quarter. However, we continue to believe that the economy will decelerate over the year and therefore reiterate our GDP growth forecast of 5.6% for the full-year. Exports have surprised on the upside this year, buoyed by strong demand within the region and to Europe, but we anticipate demand from developed markets slackening over the remainder of the year, dragging down GDP growth even though shipments to mainland China will provide some support for the headline export number.
