China's business climate index fell sharply in Q108 'due to the impact of the sudden weather storms and the global economic slowdown', according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Based on a survey of 20,000 enterprises, covering a wide range of industries, the index dropped from 143.6 in Q407 to 136.2 - its lowest level since Q206 - with the business climate across the industrial, construction, property development, services and catering sectors all declining.
