BMI View: The Chinese economy continues to steam ahead, despite ongoing efforts by the authorities to cool its rapid expansion. Real GDP growth soared to a 12-year high of 11.9% y-o-y in Q207, accelerating from 11.1% in Q1, on the back of surging exports, robust investment growth and a pick up in private consumption. The continuation of rapid growth in China is undermining the authorities' capability of controlling the domestic economy. Indeed, we believe that the only way they could induce any meaningful slowdown would be through the implementation of more draconian measures than the moderate ones taken to date,
