A poll released in February revealed that military-appointed Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont's popularity among his constituents continues to fall, only months after taking office following last year's coup. Surayud's approval rating fell to 34.8% by the end of the month compared with 39.2% in early February and 70.5% in November, with a majority of respondents expressing dissatisfaction over the PM's failure to bring corruption charges against former premier Thaksin Shinawatra.
