President Pervez Musharraf has said that he is not currently considering allowing 'any politicians currently living abroad to enter the country'. Exiled former prime ministers Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif will not therefore be leading their respective parties at this year's general elections, which must be held by November. We expect Musharraf to secure another five-year term, but clamours for greater democracy are rising.
