BMI View: The ringgit is currently under some pressure amid slowing external demand, the apparent end of monetary tightening and general US dollar strength. While this may result in some short term weakness, Malaysia's fundamentals remain strong and we expect a quick recovery from any depreciation. Our medium-term view is that the ringgit will continue to appreciate steadily.
