Since the Bali bombings of 2002, which killed 202 people, the August to mid-October period has become the season for high-profile bombings. Indonesian militants have pulled off a major attack during these months in every year since Bali and terror analysts are concerned that there is pressure on them to do so again in 2006. Police operations in Indonesia and Malaysia have weakened Jemaah Islamiah, South East Asia's most prominent militant group, but Indonesia's chief security minister has warned that incidents can still be expected.
