There were three fresh piracy attacks in the Malacca Strait, one of the busiest waterways in the world, in June. The Strait is on Lloyd's Market Association's 'war and terrorism risk', making insurance premiums roughly US$5,000 more expensive per ship passing through it. Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has accused insurance companies of capitalising on the 'war on terror', and claims that the terrorism risk in the Strait is minimal. Piracy does, however, undoubtedly go on, and these new attacks mean the Strait is unlikely to be removed from the list in the near
