President Gloria Arroyo has received a much-needed endorsement from LAKAS, the main party in the ruling coalition, as she continues to resist opposition calls to resign over allegations that she cheated in elections in 2004. The party’s national directorate said Arroyo should remain in office for the remainder of her term, due to end in 2010.
