Indonesia's foreign minister, Hassan Wirajuda, has said that hundreds of foreign troops assisting relief efforts in tsunami-hit Aceh province are welcome. 'Their presence is based on our request,' he told journalists at a Berlin press conference. Earlier, Vice President Jusuf Kalla told troops from 10 countries that they must leave by the end of March in a statement criticised by the UN. Indonesia is intensely sensitive about foreigners in Aceh, where it is fighting a three-decade war against separatist rebels.
