Vietnamese FDI Key To Growth

BMI View: Vietnamese investments are set to play a greater role in the development of the Lao economy, thus raising concerns that the global downturn that has dragged down Vietnam's economic growth will also affect its landlocked neighbour. Meanwhile, the introduction of a new transit agreement will help boost Laos' external sector, although transhipment revenues could suffer in the short term.
