Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Thongloun Sisoulith attended a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi, in the Yunnan province of China in January. Both sides expressed their interest in further strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries. China has also reiterated its stance on providing development assistance to Laos and supporting the country in developing its infrastructure.
