Kick-Off For Monetary Policy Normalisation
June 2010 | Economic AnalysisTaiwan is the latest Asian nation to begin normalising interest rates, instigating a 12.5bps increase in interest rates on June 24. We expect the Central Bank of the Republic of China to continue gradually adjusting interest rates to the upside in response to strong economic activity on the domestic front, thereby bringing its policy rate to 1.75% by end-2010.
