Strengthening Ties With Australia

Australia and China have signed new deals worth US$8.8bn and pledged to push for a free trade agreement at an early date in an effort to boost their economic relations. Former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd welcomed China's Vice President Xi Jinping and 300 Chinese delegates to Canberra, commenting that the two countries will face the global economic challenges together. Speaking to a business luncheon, Xi said the countries should focus on deepening strategic cooperation on energy and resources. We expect China-Australia relations to continue to flourish under Australia's new PM Julia
