NPA Strikes Again
July 2010 | Ratings UpdateRebels from the communist New Peoples' Army (NPA) in the Philippines have seized a soldier and a militiaman from government troops in Compostela Valley. This took place four days after they freed four soldiers who had been abducted for more than two months. Around 30 NPA rebels erected a checkpoint in Sitio Depot, Barangay Ulip in Compostela town and seized the two soldiers. Rebels also seized at least 20-30 civilians.
