Xinjiang Uyghur Investment Expected

State-owned China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) intends to expand its refining and oil production capacity in the Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region of China. According to remarks made by CNPC president Jiang Jiemin on May 21, the company intends to increase its refining capacity in the Xinjiang region by 50% to 30mn tonnes per annum (tpa), equivalent to roughly 602,700 barrels per day (b/d).
