May 2010 | Ratings UpdateIndonesian Deputy Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin said the Indonesian Military (TNI) has committed to transfer processes of its businesses worth IDR3.2trn (US$320mn) by the end of August. Sjafrie added that TNI has completed the preparation stages and will enter the implementation controlling phase in the near future. The TNI business transfer supervision team, comprised of officials from TNI and the Defence Ministry, is conducting the handover. We see the planned business handover as a key step towards reducing the role of the military in society.
