BMI View: The durability of Myanmar's ruling State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) junta will be tested in 2010, assuming that planned elections take place. We expect the military to retain broad authority after elections, but we do not preclude substantial upheaval in the course of this decade, potentially resulting in regime change.
