A ground breaking ceremony for the fourth planned Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) was held in Hai Phong in Vietnam on January 13. The Hai Phong VSIP is a 1,600-hectare township, developed by Vietnam's state-owned Becamex IDC and Singapore's Sembcorp Industries The development of the first phase of VSIP is estimated to cost over US$100mn. Apart from adding attraction on the fronts of malls, hotels, medical centres, schools and community spaces, the VSIP will also cater to foreign investment industries. The project is expected to be fully developed in 10 years and will accommodate 150,000 households.
