Capital Raising Supports Credit Outlook
December 2009 | Economic AnalysisAccording to Li Fuan, a senior official at the Chinese banking regulator, Chinese banks will raise as much as CNY500bn from capital markets next year to boost their core capital following this year's lending boom. Fuan's comments substantiated the rumours that the Chinese Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) urged the nation's five largest banks to raise their capital adequacy ratios in late November.
