January 2010 | Ratings UpdateFollowing allegations in a newly launched controversial book 'Cikeas Octobers' that suggests that election campaign funds had illegally been channeled to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's campaign team, there have been increased calls for tighter supervision of campaign funds. According to Adnan Topan Husodo from the Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW), a study by the ICW showed that none of the campiaign fund reports from the presidential candidates meet the standards of accountability and transparency. Unsurprisingly, existing regulations are not sufficient to prompt the desired higher standards.
