Pakistan's army has arrested Muslim Khan, the Taliban's spokesperson in the country's north-western Swat Valley. Army spokesperson Athar Abbas stated that along with Muslim Khan, commander Mahmood Khan and three other terrorist leaders were arrested in an operation in Swat. We believe Pakistan's military campaign in the Malakand region has now reached a more mature stage, with the Taliban clearly on the retreat. Reports of fighters surrendering to the authorities in recent weeks suggests that local militants are reassessing the wisdom of resistance.
