Macroeconomic Forecast Vietnam

GDP growth came in at 6.23% in 2008, according to a preliminary estimate released at the end of December by the General Statistics Office. With growth slowing markedly and prices tumbling, we expect both monetary and fiscal policy to be expansive in 2009. Nevertheless, we maintain our 2.9% and 5.0% growth projection for 2009 and 2010 respectively.
