Ratification Of KORUS FTA Unlikely In 2009
March 2009 | Economic AnalysisWe are highly sceptical that the so-called KORUS free trade agreement between South Korea and the US will be ratified by the US Congress in 2009. The agreement remains controversial in both countries and will most likely not be a priority for the newly-inaugurated US President Barack Obama, who will be occupied with propping up the domestic economy and preventing the US financial sector from imploding.
