BMI View: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is looking well positioned to be re-elected in 2009, but the small size of his own Democratic Party means that the allied Golkar party or the opposition PDI-P party will continue to wield considerable influence in parliament, thus constraining the president's agenda. The big test for the presidency will come in April's parliamentary elections, and any sign of significant economic deterioration could cost the Democratic Party - and ultimately Yudhoyono - support.
