September 2008 | Macroeconomic ForecastsHong Kong's inflation accelerated for the fourth consecutive month in July 2008, with growth in the composite consumer price index (CPI) registering 6.3% y-o-y, up from 6.1% in June to equal the record 6.3% seen in February. On a quarterly basis, inflation registered 5.7% y-o-y in Q208, accelerating from 4.6% in Q108, while annual CPI growth averaged 5.1% in January-June 2008, compared with just 1.5% in H107.
