Regional Disparities To Remain Pronounced
July 2008 | Economic AnalysisBMI View: While Sri Lanka's economy will slow in 2008, major economic disparities between the island's nine provinces will remain its most salient feature for an indefinite period. Improved infrastructure would greatly assist the less developed regions, but given the government's limited resources, there is little it can do to bridge these gaps significantly.
