July 2008 | Macroeconomic ForecastsBMI View: North Korea does not publish any economic data, since it regards this as a state secret. Thus, the only reliable estimates are provided by the South's central bank (Bank of Korea, BoK). The BoK reported on June 18 2008 that North Korea's GDP shrank by 2.3% in 2007, owing to decreased agricultural production as a result of bad weather.
