Colombo has seen a series of bomb attacks on buses and trains lately that have resulted in at least 32 deaths and more than 100 injuries. The government has blamed these attacks on the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE, 'Tamil Tigers'), although on June 10, the less well-known Ellalan Force (which is believed to be connected to the Tigers) claimed responsibility. Ellalan reportedly described its attacks as revenge for government assaults on Tamil-held areas.
