June 2008 | Macroeconomic ForecastsWe are forecasting economic growth to continue to decelerate in 2008, to 8.8% from an estimated 9.2% expansion in 2007, as heightened regional competition puts pressure on the country's crucial garment sector. However, we nonetheless expect growth to remain robust, as the burgeoning tourism and construction industries continue to rise in prominence, and agriculture continues to benefit from ongoing productivity gains.
