May CPI Belies Decelerating Non-Food Prices

BMI View: We believe the 25.2% y-o-y headline figure, a 16-year high, disguises the underlying trend in the May inflation report. We foresee inflation reaching its peak of close to 30% y-o-y in Q307 and then start falling towards our end-08 target of 18.0%. However, the weak dong is a key risk to this forecast.
