Referendum Causes Internal Divisions
April 2008 | Political Risk AnalysisBMI View: The constitutional referendum planned for May 10 will do little to change political conditions or improve Myanmar's position in the international community. However, we see the referendum increasing internal divisions within the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) as there is a growing discontent with the top leadership among army officers.
