February 2008 | Macroeconomic ForecastsWe are forecasting Hong Kong's economy to grow by 5.6% in 2008, slowing from an estimated expansion of 6.1% 2007 as slower growth in China and the US drags upon economic momentum. However, strong domestic demand, further spurred by aggressive interest rate cuts in the US, will continue to support the economy, helping to compensate for an anticipated slowdown in merchandise export growth.
