After witnessing largely benign inflation across the region in 2007, accelerating price growth is set to become a key theme in Asia in 2008, and the way countries set about tackling the threat posed by rapidly rising oil prices will be all-important. Most at risk are those which rely heavily upon subsidies to keep fuel prices artificially low, while those with credible central banks are most likely to smoothly ride out the inflationary challenges of 2008.
