- Lee's Policy Agenda Outlined

The transition team of President-elect Lee Myung-bak has outlined 21 policy goals for the new president's five-year term. Efforts to boost economic growth and create jobs top the agenda, which also includes policies to reinforce the social security net and liberalise the university education system. In foreign policy, Lee aims to engage North Korea in economic co-operation and upgrade the current defence alliance with the US. We are expecting Lee's Grand National Party to win parliamentary elections on April 9, but internal rifts within the party are likely to limit hiss mandate for reform.
