BMI View: We have raised our 2007 real GDP forecast to 5.1% from 4.5% on the back of very strong Q307 (6.92% y-o-y) growth and a sharp rise in personal consumption. However, we expect a moderation in 2008, to 4.7%. A downside risk to our projection is a sharp slowdown in the US. Taiwanese exports to the US have fallen, although outbound shipments to China and the rest of Asia remain strong.
