Moderate Slowdown Under Way

Malaysia's economic growth continued to slow in Q107, in line with our expectations (see Mild Slowdown Ahead, March 24), as growth eased in both the domestic and external sectors. Real GDP rose by 5.3% y-o-y in the first quarter, down from 5.7% in Q406 and 6.0% in the same year-ago period.
