Lee Accused Of Investment Fraud
June 2007 | Ratings UpdateLee Myung-bak, the presidential election frontrunner from the opposition Grand National Party (GNP), has been accused of a investment fraud in connection with the now-defunct BBK, a firm in which he was involved with in the early 2000s. The allegations were initially forwarded by aides of Park Geun-hye, Lee's bitter rival for the GNP presidential ticket, but have since been latched onto by legislators from the ruling Uri Party. Lee has refuted the claims, but we believe he will have to face further mudslinging from both the Park and Uri camp, at least until the GNP presidential primaries are held in August.
