Links With China To Be Boosted

Deputy Foreign Minister Le Cong Phung received a delegation from China's Guangxi Zhuang region in Hanoi on May 9. The group of party and local administration officials from the Chinese province, located on the northern border of Vietnam, expressed their eagerness to speed up the 'two economic corridors, one belt' project', which includes the construction of an express railway route and a highway linking the two countries. The project is aimed at bolstering the economic ties between the two countries, which have had a tense relationship previously and were engaged in armed conflict as late as in 1979.
