No Let-Up On Dissident Crackdown
May 2007 | Political Risk AlertTwo activist lawyers were sentenced to jail on May 11 in the latest wave of repression against pro-democracy activists. The crackdown comes less than two weeks before the National Assembly elections on May 20, and shows that Vietnam is still far from becoming a representative democracy.
