Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will earn five times more than US President George W. Bush this year after a pay rise for government ministers was unveiled. Lee will earn an annual salary of SGD3.1mn (US$2.1mn) compared to Bush's US$400,000 wage, as Singaporean government ministers see their earnings jump by around 60%. The pay increase has sparked outrage among Singaporeans, with hundreds uniting in protest, and unbelievably is actually slightly smaller than the government had originally proposed.
