BMI View: Hong Kong's real GDP growth accelerated to 7.0% y-o-y in Q406 from a revised 6.7% in Q3, putting full-year growth at an impressive 6.8%. The economy continued to be supported by strong domestic demand, while export growth remained resilient in the face of a slowing US economy. Going forward, while we expect export growth to moderate over the coming months, as external demand softens with the slowing global economy, Hong Kong should continue to post strong growth figures in 2007.
