Malaysia has agreed to expand existing cooperation with Thailand to help in its long-running battle to end unrest in the latter country's southern Muslim provinces - Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat. Thailand has alleged that insurgent leaders are taking refuge in Malaysia, while sympathisers have been fuelling the unrest by providing funds to suspected militants - claims that have both been strongly denied by Malaysian officials.
