BMI View: Singapore was extremely successful in attracting foreign investors in 2005, with the latest figures from UNCTAD showing that FDI inflows totalled US$20.1bn, a 35.5% increase on 2004 and up on preliminary estimates of US$15.9bn. This makes Singapore's ratio of FDI inflows to GDP one of the highest in the world, at 17.2%.
