Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has held talks with former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad in an attempt to mend a rift that has extended for months and undermined the popularity of both men. Mahathir has hurled a barrage of criticism at his successor, including attacks on his abandonment of large infrastructure projects. The two talked for two hours, in which Mahathir outlined his contentions, which Abdullah has acknowledged but declined to comment on. Mahathir has vowed to continue his campaign unless he perceives a change.
