Ongoing Pressure On President Chen

President Chen Shui-bian's political future remains under fire, with tens of thousands of Taiwanese gathering in central Taipei in early September for a sit-in protest. A large swathe of the public are angered by ongoing corruption scandals involving the president, his family and his top aides. The protest was organised by the 'million person depose Chen' campaign, run by Shih Ming-teh, a former chairman of Chen's ruling Democratic Progressive Party.
