BMI View: Renewed fighting in the East has brought full-scale war a step closer. The LTTE (Tamil Tigers) are unlikely to accept any division in their autonomy over the East. Until the issue of the government's support to the rival Karuna faction is settled, there will be no return to peace negotiations.
