We currently forecast Malaysia’s economy to grow by 5.8% in 2006. We have revised this figure upwards from 5.6% on account of the strong growth towards the end of 2005. It does appear that industrial production is developing momentum, and we expect this to be supported in 2006 by strong consumer spending and export demand.
