The military went on red alert as thousands of protestors took to the streets of Manila on June 11 calling on Arroyo to step down. The jueteng investigation, which centres on claims that Arroyo's husband, son and brother-in-law received kickbacks from the jueteng bosses, comes at a difficult time for Arroyo.
